"Unsupervised image clustering"
Hi,
I am facing an interesting problem and I think Rapidminer may provide some help, but I never worked with images on it.
The challenge is group together (clustering) the images with similar patterns, and keeping the control over, for example, the number of groups that will be generated. Images are gray scale with patterns; here you can download a sample group of such images:

I will appreciate any suggestion about how to do the clustering and comments about the most suitable tool if Rapidminer is not the best one.
Best regards,
S. Berkut

Image mining is very interesting using RapidMiner! After a few steps your images are data which can be used in Rapidminer.
Perhaps have a look at http://splab.cz/en/research/data-mining/articles/trainable-segment-selection
