    Hi,

you can use the installer for RapidMiner. Then you shouldn't have to configure any environmental variables.

I have a quick simple question.
I've installed the 64-bit version on Windows 7 however when I run Rapidminer I see it running as a 32-bit application.
Is there anyway to switch to the 64-bit version?

    Hi,

the RapidMiner.exe is always identified as a 32bit program, however RapidMiner is a Java program, so the javaw.exe matters. Even though the taskmanager says "RapidMiner.exe *32" here, I still have 4GB of RAM available in RapidMiner, which would not be possible if it was not the 64 bit version ;)
You can see how much memory RapidMiner uses by activating "View" -> "Show View" -> "System Monitor". If you do want to increase memory, you can start RapidMiner via the /RapidMiner/scripts/RapidMinerGUI.bat, which you can edit and set the MAX_JAVA_MEMORY variable yourself.

    Regards,
    Marco
