Jitter and log transform - strange ranges in Scatter plot

Hello,

I was playing around with the Sonar dataset, and when visualized the attribute_2, and added a log transform with a little jitter value (on the Plot View, Scatter plotter, RM 5.2, 5.3), that dimension was interestingly presented. There were for example multiple 0-s on that axis, after an auto range things become small.
Is there a bug in the range handling in this case, or this is how it should work (for these admittedly strange values)?

Cheers, gabor

PS.: Selecting Auto Range changes this behaviour.

    Hi Gabor,

thanks for reporting! It is a known bug that jitter works less than optimal with log scales. As a workaround, you could apply the log function directly on the data with Generate Attributes, then display them on a non-logarithmic chart and apply the jittering.

    Best regards,
    Marius
