Hi!
Do you think the number of attributes effect on the number of records we need for data mining?
I mean, I looked at the UCI Repository data! There were lots of data with just 500 records, but the number of attributes was low, too. Like about 15.
But I have a data with 500 records and about more than 100 attributes.
Can I do data mining with that?
regards

it is hard to make general statements - it depends highly on your data. In text mining you often have several thousand attributes for only some thousand examples and get quite good results. But in general you are right, usually the more attributes you have, the more examples you need to create a good model.
I would just give it a try, and also try to perform a kind of feature selection to increase the model performance.

Marius
