there is no "best classificator". For different problems different algorithms work better and worse. Also there is a lot more than just choosing the correct algorithms. It is also about Feature Selection, Feature Generation and Optimization.
Many data scienciest have their favourite algorithms, which they like. But noone should just use a single algorithm on a problem.
By the way, my favourite ones are SVM with radial kernel and Random Forest.
