r EXTENSION ISSUES WITH JAVA

Hi,

I'm installing rapidminer in a clean installation of Windows ultimate 64bits, I just installed <JDK 8u25 with NetBeans 8.0.2> and form R I'm usisng the 2.15.0 versión. At this point there's not problems.

I downloaded RM 6.2, and proceed to install the extensión <R extensión 5.30 >, then once RM start it displays the installation guide for the extensión and follow this, and my enviroment right now looks this way:

So far, I followed all the instructions line by line, I gave the jri path corectly, but once I launch RM, It reports an error related to java:


"Rapidminer studio launcher
Java could not be launched. Probably there is not enough free memory available. PLease close all other applications and try again.

errorcede: 10"

The point is that my Workstation has more than 12 GB space free memory available, the only programs running at the time are the server services for MYSQL and MS SQL express (two servers with no database at he moment - I just did the clean installation yesterday)

The next message from RM, is:

"Enter safe mode"

The last startup of rapidminer studio was interrupted or did not complete correctly. DO you want to enter safe mode? All Extensions are disabled in safe mode.

Disable extensions or Start normally"

The first option, let me run RM, the second just run the start creen and count all the modleule but at the take the exit and do nothing.

I always knew it about the difficulties installing this extensión, but this messages are new to me, any solution cross by desisntall RM and strat again.

    I'm experiencing the same problem:

    Configuration:
    Pentium Dual Core with 4GB RAM
    Windows7 64-bits
    RapidMiner 6.2 (rev: b94ed1) (64bit; though, how can I confirm that? I think it is 64bits and it is installed in "Program Files" and NOT in "Program Files (x86)")
    I added this to the PATH when installing the R extension:
       C:\Program Files\R\R-3.1.0\bin\x64;
       C:\Program Files\RapidMiner\RapidMiner Studio\jre
    For the jre I also tried the "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_05\..." and "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_25..." directories, in view of the present error (none of them soved it)
    R version 3.1.0 (64bits)

    So after installing the extension I got the exact same error reported above ("Rapidminer studio launcher Java could not be launched. Probably there is not enough free memory available. PLease close all other applications and try again. errorcede: 10") after the splash screen.

    Sometimes it doesn't display that error at all, but it simply doesn't start.

    At the moment when it throws this error there's more than half the RAM available (more than 2 gigs).

    I can only run it with all extensions disabled.

    I did follow the instruction line-by-line.

    Please help. Thank you.

    Hi,

    can you please try and start RapidMiner Studio with the "RapidMiner-Studio.bat" file instead of the "RapidMiner Studio.exe"? This should show some more information in the console about what went wrong. Error code 10 is unusual and I cannot replicate this behavior on my machine.

    At some point there was talk about including R in the distribution of RapidMiner. I think you guys do that with Java. Was the idea abandoned? This would solve so many problems.

    I gave up installing the library for R. I could never figure out how to set it up.

    There are two anomalies when running it from the batch file:

    * It shows the 'Enter Safe Mode' dialog (with the options 'Disable extensions', 'Start normally') even if I had chosen 'Disable extensions' in the previous run, and so it had run uninterrupted to completion.

    * As long as I choose 'Start normally' it goes into a loop, showing the 'Enter Safe Mode' dialog over and over. So it never shows the 'out of memory'/error-10 message.

    Hi,

    sadly I can't see anything wrong, it even says in the log that it loaded the R-library successfully.. My log looks pretty much identical and R works.
    The biggest problem with the "rJava" library we currently use is that it is doing stuff like shutting down the entire application on some errors. Which is tremendously stupid for a library because it kills RapidMiner Studio. So the error code you see might come straight from the library we use to connect to R.
    We want to improve the R installation procedure as it is indeed can be quite a pain in the backside. Don't have any further news on that at the moment, though.

    I installed R extension in Rapidminer (32 bit) with R (32 bit) and Java (32 bit). When I run a simple R script I get an error message "Process failed. Script terminated abnormaly". I have set the R_HOME and JAVA_HOME path variables correctly as well. Still it does not work and I get the samme message. Have tried a clean installation with multiple R versions and ...! No hope!

    I wonder if I should give up and consider that R and Rapidminer do not integrate or the updates of one ruins the other!

    Hi guys,

     

    We no longer support the OLD R Extension where you had to set your paths and install rJava library.

     

    We now have a NEWER, cleaner and easier installing extension called the R Scripting extension. I would use that one.

    No, you shouldn't give up. I use R and RapidMiner often and it's great.
