    Hi,

How much memory do you have in that Win7 machine? Please note that minimum requirement is 4GB and we recommend 16GB:  http://docs.rapidminer.com/studio/installation/system-requirements.html

This is a generic error message which will be displayed if the virtual machine could not be started. You should also try to start RapidMiner Studio via the .bat file and check if there is any detailed error message available.

I am getting the same error. I have 8gb RAM on my laptop. Just installed latest version of Java (8 upd 121) and it is working correctly everywhere except RapidMiner

Have you tried to start Studio via the .bat or .sh file? What error message/exception do you get in the command window?

    Hi momoustafa,

    two ideas:

    • If H is a network device please try to install RapidMiner Studio on a local drive instead
    • Check your firewall settings, make sure RM Studio is not blocked

    Cheers,

    Marcel
