Web Services and Licenses (AGPL)

Hi RapidMiners,

in a discussion with a colleague we have seen that some useful extensions (most notably the Series extension) are released under the AGPL license. The question that arised, is what happens with the licensing when we offer RapidMiner processes which use these extensions as web services/web apps.

Our reasoning has lead to the conclusion, that our code will also have to be AGPL. That can be an important limit to the use of said extensions.

Did you run into this problem before?

    Hi Sebastian -

This is a good question and requires me to do a little research. I will get back to you. :)
