"Rapidminer, JAVA and X11 on Apple 10.5 OS X"
Newbie to rapidminer and java.
Has anyone here tried running rapidminer through a remote ssh connection from a Apple OS X.5 server?
What i have discovered is java on mac calls the quartz/aqua interface and in no way what so ever touches X11.
Apple has re-written it and locked out the ability to make java call X11. Sun's java download site tells the user to use the built-in software update to get java.
They don't even offer the source.
Since java can only call quartz/aqua forwarding X11 through ssh has no effect at all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Ryan.

did you tried something like VNC? It might be a good replacement for forwarding the XServer. I personally use it for accessing RapidMiner on our compute server, which runs under linux, while I'm working on a windows machine. It runs just fine.
