Is there a way the "Explain Predictions" Operator could benefit from gpu (NVIDIA RTX A4000 with CUDA installed)?

    Hi,

thanks, indeed this is the answer I feared from someone having deeper insights into the algorithm than me ;-). Makes sense, so I will have to go with it or optimize on hardware level.  I'm using Intel i9 currently, any experience whether speed would benefit from the highly praised Mac M1?

    Cheers

    Hi,

why should GPU be better than CPU here?

And the answer is no, Explain Predictions is CPU only.

    Hi,

thanks for your quick reply. Maybe it's a bit naive, the idea was just whether gpu could speed up the calculation.

    Hi,
GPU only speeds up certain calculations - usually those with heavy matrix multiplications. I do not see a how Tree inference, which is likely the expensive part of most interpretation algorithms, would benefit from it.
