    Hi, 

    would it be possible, to be more specific about the problem you want to solve / optimize. 
    In optimization algorithms, k might represent a step size or some other hyperparameter. The optimal value for k is problem-specific, and it's typically determined through experimentation and testing on your particular dataset or problem.

    Therefore it would be good if you could get a little bit more context.
